The summer of 1982 brought over a decade of fear to Seattle, Washington. Year after year, clusters of women's dead bodies would be found, one discovery more gruesome then the next. A serial killer dubbed the Green River Killer was stalking the Pacific Northwest, his name Gary Leon Ridgway.

Thanks for your feedback @witchywoman_28 - we feel like we've already learned so much since these earlier episodes, but we strive to do a better job each time. I appreciate your feedback and will try to do a better job the next time DNA comes up. It's too bad you couldn't finish the episode, the conversation with Dr. Michael Stone and Dr. Gary Brucato was illuminating.
I think there should be a mention made at the beginning of your episode on the Green River killer regarding DNA analysis. There is a rambling section about why they did not do any DNA testing. This case started in 1982. DNA analysis was not brought into the forefront of crime tests until much later. The first case DNA testing was used was in 1986. It was an untested scientific method for the courts for a while after this, plus it was much more rudimentary than now. I found this lack of background knowledge to be distracting, and could not finish the episode.
